One of the distinctive practices of my church is that we eat together. A lot. We have eight church Gatherings over a weekend, and each one incorporates a meal. We have dinner together on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, and breakfast at our Gatherings on Sunday morning.

One of the questions that we receive from other churches is ‘How’. It sounds like a nice idea, and it is not unique to eat together, even if less regularly, at other churches. But to feed hundreds of adults and children every week seems like a logistical headache.

But before we get to the ‘How’, we have to deal with the ‘Why’. Is it merely a nice idea? Or is there something deeper going on?
