Ministry Teams Are Like Dragon Boating
This week on The Shock Absorber
Sometimes, ministry leaders can feel like they're driving the church bus. They are the ones who are doing all the work, while everyone else is simply along for the ride.
But this is not how the Bible describes the church, nor the role of those set aside for vocational and pastoral ministry.
Instead, the minister is more like the drummer on a dragon boat. The drummer is responsible for keeping everyone aligned with the rhythm of the activity, thereby helping everyone else do the work of ministry.
Admittedly, the dragon boat is not strictly a biblical metaphor. But in this week’s episode of The Shock Absorber podcast, Joel McMaster, Stuart Crawshaw and I discuss the theological description of the New Testament church, and how this creates a foundation to structure our local ministry.
